I've recently shared a post detailing my overall goals for 2019, things I wish to work on, improve at or achieve over the course of the next 365 days. Here, I will be sharing my monthly goals (targets, resolutions, whatever you want to call them!) that I will use to work towards completing my overall goals.
I feel like breaking down your massive goals into smaller, more manageable ones with a shorter deadline can help motivate you to actually get to the point where you will actually achieve what you have planned to do. Bigger targets with no set plan can leave you feeling overwhelmed.
Here's what I have planned to achieve in January:
- Share one blog post. This is a mild, easy target to achieve considering I've shared my 2019 Goals and Aspirations, and I have another couple of posts drafted, waiting for images so they can be published.
- Record one YouTube video. It's been a while since I've shared a video on my YouTube channel, and quite frankly I miss doing so. I crave being able to edit, and now I have my own PC I can start... Once I've shifted this horrendous cold that is.
- Eat a healthier diet. No more chips from Grosvenor Fish Bar just because it's a 10 second walk from the office. No pork dinners from Urban Munch. A treat here and there is fine, but weekly it's not doing me any good. My body is asking for a lettuce leaf and I'm feeding it oil instead. It's time to change!
- Lose 5lbs of weight. It may come as a shock to many of you reading this who know me in real life, but actually I've piled on the pounds since I started working in an office. 5lbs is a doable amount for me, I've done it before so I know I can again.
- Weigh in weekly on a Monday. This is just to keep me on track and to hold myself accountable for what goes into my mouth.
- Save £30 in savings. I will be trying to do this, alongside my Penny-A-Day challenge. Either way, I'll be making strides towards saving £1,000.
- NO SPEND IN JANUARY! This is likely to be a difficult one seeing as I've booked a tattoo and I need my nails filled, but aside from that and the medicine I've had to buy, no spending! Nada!
- Take part in 1 park run. There's a park run that happens not so far from where I live. I want to walk there, do the track they've set out, and walk back.
- Read one book. People may see this and think, "ONE book? Seriously? I've read 50 so far!" and I used to be like that too. But since finishing high school, starting college, and then starting a full time job, my energy levels have been depleted.
I've already made a start on these, including reading a book. I'll try and share a blog post at the end of the month evaluating myself and whether I've achieved any (or all!) of these.
